We’re looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic practice manager with a friendly, can-do attitude.

HMOA Wellington studio

Herriot Melhuish O’Neill Architects (HMOA) works across a range of commercial and residential projects throughout New Zealand and has studios in Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland.

You’ll provide administrative, financial and human resources support to the directors and their teams across all three studios, with a particular focus on the Wellington studio where you’ll be based.

You’ll be calm under pressure and happy to chip in and lend a hand with a range of tasks.

Primarily, the skills and experience sought are:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (i.e., Word, Excel)
  • Proficiency with Xero
  • Proficiency with Abtrac Management software and InDesign preferred but not essential
  • An interest in design and architecture

Key responsibilities:

  • Being the face and voice of HMOA: meeting and greeting clients, consultants and suppliers; answering the phone; responding to initial email enquiries from potential clients and suppliers
  • Managing accounts, payroll (Xero), and setting up payments
  • Reconciling bank statement/credit card expenses
  • Managing accounts payable/receivables and GST returns
  • Responding to requests from directors across all studios, including reports, HR support, cashflow forecasts and workflow programming
  • Providing administrative support for the team as required

You’ll be working in a light-filled, inner-city Wellington studio with an informal work environment, plenty of coffee, music and supportive colleagues.
