For this busy design studio, a simple palette of materials and carefully designed features allowed us to achieve the desire for the laidback aesthetic of an archetypal Kiwi bach (holiday house). Painted panels, natural timber-clad walls, battened ceilings, plywood joinery, rubber flooring and earthy brown carpet created a casually stylish working environment.

The studio had recently relocated to a new building with less overall space than previously. Careful planning and innovative design accommodated for this, providing open-plan areas, a welcoming ‘entry nook’ and seating, staff kitchen and boardroom/meeting space, as well as storage and administrative areas.
