Carriage Quarter Apartments
Christchurch
Christchurch
63 one, two and three-bedroom terraced homes and apartments on Manchester St in Christchurch.
A significant contribution to medium-density housing and the revitalisation of central Christchurch, HMOA is working with Fletcher Living on the One Central development. Carriage Quarter is the first of these 'super lots' developed on Manchester St.
There's a range of unit types from larger, more formal apartments along the street frontage to smaller townhouses behind. The newly formed Rauora Park provides a great outlook for the apartments.
The material palette is refined, and it changes in scale and texture depending on the position and size of the unit.
The project includes ground-level commercial space.

Carriage Quarter is named after the historic Howland’s Carriage Factory that once operated near the location, producing all manner of carriages and carts in the late 1800s.
